With the Costa Brava Rittens you explore the wonderful, scenic variety of the Costa Brava in 4 riding days. On the varied rides you will experience a different route every day, whereby the start and end points are the same. You will be accommodated in a charming country hotel with pool and spa area, thus saving you the daily packing of your suitcases like on a riding tour.
Reiseverlauf
Example:
Day 1: Arrival at the estate, in the heart of nature. Before dinner, over a glass of local country wine, you will discuss the weekly programme and the allocation of horses. Afterwards a Spanish dinner awaits you.
During the next 4 riding days you will ride a different one of the 5 day tours every day.
Day trip 1: After breakfast you will help to prepare the horses. Your destination today is Lake Valveralla, surrounded by poplars and oaks. On the way you will enjoy fantastic views of the surroundings of Girona and the mountains of the Gavarres. After a tasty picnic, you will make your way back upriver to the farm. You will pass through the medieval villages of Sant Miquel de Fluvia, Sant Mori and Saus. In Vilaür, a pretty village with its fortress walls, you can take a short coffee or beer break. The Countess of Alba owned a pretty house here. Back at the hotel you can relax in the garden or by the pool.
Day trip 2: Via small forest paths and mountain ridges, which offer a wonderful view, you will reach the river Fluvia. Here you will also find the Bascara racecourse, where you can gallop. Then you continue the way over field and forest paths. After lunch, gallop through oak woods to Galliners and Parets de l´Emporda and back to the farm.
Day trip 3: In the morning you will pass through the village of Llampailles and then continue through fields to the Alt Empordà region. You will have a picnic break in Colomers, directly on the river. After a short siesta you return via Vilopriu and Saus. You can shower the horses and then relax a little before dinner.
Day trip 4: Today you ride on the other side of the river Fluvia. Through forest preserves, past the monastery of Arenys and the castle of Vilajoan, you will arrive at your picnic spot in a pine forest. Afterwards you will start your way home.
Day trip 5: You saddle the horses and set off towards the sea. Gently downhill, over dirt roads and past small villages. You will reach the picnic area near the small private castle of Sant Feliu de Garriga. In the afternoon it becomes flatter and you can trot and gallop extensively. Now the horses already smell the sea breeze. Passing the old mills of Mas Vilanera and la Escala you will reach Sant Marti de Empuries. You leave the horses in the prepared paddocks and drive back to the accommodation by car.
Day 6: Breakfast and departure. (subject to change)

They are located on the old Can Grau estate, which has been recently renovated and furnished with antique furniture. The owners have made their dream of living in the country with their horses come true.
All rooms are differently furnished and decorated. The common room with sofa and sitting areas provide enough space for sociable evenings and on the terrace with pergola you can enjoy your dinner in summer. There are also comfortable sitting areas in the garden. The pool provides refreshment.

Andalusier, Andalusier-Mix and Arabians.
Sattel & Zaum:
Hiking saddles & English saddles. Western saddles on request. Saddle bags for personal belongings and the lunch picnic are provided.
Reiterfahrung: Saddle-fast in all gaits and safe on foreign horses in the country. Riding time about 4-6 hours daily.
