Reiseverlauf

Example for your summer holiday in Finland:

Day 1: Arrival in Kajaani and transfer to the farm. During dinner you will get to know the other guests and your hosts and discuss the program.

Day 2: In the morning there will be a guided tour through the Huskykennel. You will get to know Alaskan and Siberian Huskies and help with the feeding. At noon there will be a short test ride on the course, where you will get to know the horses, then you will take a first ride into the deep forest. Often you will ride on narrow trails.

Day 3: You saddle the horses and ride down to the lake Iso Särkijärvi. Here you release the horses to the meadow and spend the day swimming, boating, fishing and in the sauna. Lunch is prepared around the campfire. In the evening you will ride through the forest back to the farm. (Riding time today about 3 hours)

Day 4: Today you will ride to lake Iso Särkijärvi. The way there leads you once again through Kangasmetsä until you reach the lake after about 2 hours. There you release the horses into the paddock and grill your lunch on the campfire. After the lunch break you ride back to the farm along the old Latva trail (approx. 1h). When the horses are taken care of, you can go back to the lake by bike or car, where you can use the sauna, swim and go boating.

Day 5: Extensive ride through the forest and along the lake. Depending on the season, flowers and berries glow yellow, pink and red in the sun. On the way you will enjoy your saddlebag picnic outside by a lake, while the horses relax in the paddock. Riding time about 3 hours.

Day 6: Canoeing day: Depending on the weather, you can canoe down Latvajoki, a natural and winding river, or you can cross Lake Löytöjärvi and have lunch by the fire at Löytöjärvikota.

Day 7: Departure after breakfast, or according to flight times.

Subject to change due to unforseeable incidents.

For non-riders with hiking and/or mountain biking instead of riding. An expedition with bear watching rounds off the programme. In the afternoon you will drive to a special bear observation station where brown bears pass by every night. After breakfast the next day you will return to the farm.
