The lodge is located approximately 2.5 hours from Windhoek, off the usual tourist routes and main roads, hidden on the edge of the Kalahari – ideal for experiencing authentic Africa in a family atmosphere. For over 45 years, the German owners of the lodge have been committed to nature conservation and species protection. Wild herds roaming freely and enjoying the vastness of the land will delight every nature lover. In the reserve you will find eland, kudu, oryx, hartebeest, striped and white-tailed wildebeest, blesbok, black rhinos, springbok, ibex, impala, plains zebra, ostriches and giraffes, among others. Smaller animal species such as pangolins, aardwolves, aardwolves, bat-eared foxes, as well as a rich bird life (more than 120 bird species) and fascinating reptiles and insects are also native here. The animals roam freely here, unhindered by fences. The flora around the lodge also holds many secrets – discover a piece of unspoilt Africa at this lodge! In the vast Kalahari region in particular, it is a special experience for every nature lover to go on a hike and explore the wide tree and bush savannahs, salt pans and overgrown dunes on foot or on horseback, under the full moon and into the night.
The lodge is very committed to the protection of the endangered black rhinos and has already reintroduced six animals threatened with extinction into their natural habitat in 1997.

Itinerary

A total of 10 riding horses are available for guests. The vast horizon of the Kalahari and the direct contact with wild animals on horseback will inspire you. Only rides for advanced riders are offered.
Horse riding package: Guided rides in the Kalahari for advanced riders: Includes 15 hours of riding (1 introductory ride, 4 afternoon rides with sundowners, 1 Ride4Black Rhino, 1 short trail ride with glamping)
The riding groups are very small and individual with a maximum of 4 to 5 riders in a group (advanced riders).

Other activities:
Rhino tracking, game drives, sunset drives and night drives, Kalahari excursions (led by biologists), bush walks, ranger courses and much more can be booked on site.Non-riders will definitely get their money's worth here, but riders can also take the opportunity to try something different: game drives in open Land Rovers, wildlife viewing and game walks with Bushmen. You can also gain insights into biological field research projects and participate in information evenings on projects related to flora and fauna. The special thing about the game drives is the proximity to nature. In most national parks, you are not allowed to leave the cars. Here you have the opportunity to learn more about the behaviour of wild animals, their habitat and the social structures of the individual species. It is a unique nature experience to walk in the deep Kalahari sand and follow the animal tracks.
