In this gourmet region you will enjoy varied rides, crowned by numerous wine tastings at some of the most renowned wineries in the region, as well as excellent cuisine and a wide range of cultural and excursion opportunities. Every day you will dine à la carte in the best restaurants in the area - let us surprise and spoil you!
You can choose to stay at the luxurious 5-star boutique hotel Angala, surrounded by picturesque vineyards in stylish suites with African charm, at the middle class hotel Klein Waterval or directly on the farm in nice guest rooms.
Demanding riders get their money´s worth here, e.g. with brisk gallops on soft meadow and forest paths, but beginners are also welcome! The excellently trained horses make every rider´s heart beat faster and your hosts are themselves passionate riders who are happy to share their enthusiasm for the sport with you!

Riding program (example for 1 week, also longer or shorter possible)
The riding program is very flexible and is based entirely on your personal wishes. The special feature of this concept is that you will get to know the Cape Winelands with a very experienced guide and dine à la carte in various ed restaurants both at lunch and dinner. This way you will also get to know and appreciate the Cape Winelands in culinary terms - you will be delighted by the quality and creativity of the South African-international cuisine, as well as by the location and ambience of the individual restaurants! On horseback you will also visit the most noble wineries in the area to taste the best wines at the wine tastings.

Day 1: Arrival in Cape Town. Transfer to your chosen accommodation (approx. 35 min) and check in. In the afternoon you will go for a first ride in the nearer surroundings, where you will get to know your horse. After the ride you will return to your accommodation. There you will have the opportunity to refresh and relax before you are invited to a stylish dinner in one of the most beautiful restaurants in the area, accompanied by fine, regional wines.

Day 2: The morning ride takes you up into the Simonsberg Mountains. Your destination is a wonderful viewpoint where you are already expected for a fresh drink and snack. The views over the Paarl Valley are breathtaking and you will soon realise that the region can be proud of a long and successful history of wine culture. At the foot of the mountains you follow the path further through the vines to the Anura winery. Here you will enjoy a wine tasting with cheese snacks followed by an à la carte lunch. Well fortified you can continue the ride through the vineyards. On the way you will stop at Neil Joubert´s private winery to taste some of his award-winning wines.
You will be back around 4pm and (depending on your accommodation) you can relax by the pool with a sundowner or treat yourself to a massage (extra charge).

Day 3: An extended morning ride takes you through groves of lemons, pears, peaches and plums to the famous Backsberg Winery where you are invited to a typical wine tasting. The way back leads along the western foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains with magnificent views of the Franschoek Valley and the vast Great Drakenstein Mountains in the distance. The ride back to the stable takes you through fragrant eucalyptus forests and along winding mountain paths. Enjoy a late lunch at a nearby winery.
The rest of the afternoon you can relax or join an excursion to one of the pretty historic towns of Stellenbosh, Franschoek or Paarl. The region is not only famous for its wines but also for its fantastic cuisine - you can enjoy both at a multi-course dinner in a restaurant in the evening.

Day 4: After breakfast you set off on another wonderful morning ride. The narrow paths meander through the orchards and vineyards and always offer the opportunity for beautiful gallops. Finally you will reach another winery where you will be expected for lunch.
The afternoon is at your leisure to relax. There are various excursions and activities for those who want to use their visit to do and discover as much as possible. Alternatively, you can take another ride - in the evening sun the mountains glow a particularly intense red. As every evening you are invited to a stylish dinner in a ed restaurant.

Day 5: In the morning we will ride up on horseback to another well-known winery in the neighbourhood, this time the Glen Carlou Wine Estate, for a wine tasting with a small snack. There is always the opportunity for beautiful gallops on soft trails - a joy for horses and riders alike!
After lunch you drive to Franschhoek where you can stroll through the historic old town. On the way there you will visit some of the region´s famous wineries, which are known for their world-famous top wines. You will have dinner with your four-legged friends, because, as a surprise, the candlelight dinner will be served in the garden near the stables.

Day 6: After you have recovered your riding muscles a little yesterday afternoon, today you will go on an extended ride with magnificent views! This takes you through forests, along the mighty rock faces of the Simonsberg to a cosy picnic area in the forest. The narrow, winding paths through the forest are also used for gallops, which guarantee pure adrenalin! After the sporty ride you return to your accommodation in the early afternoon, where there is still time to relax. For dinner you will be served a typical South African dish, prepared by a local cook according to her own recipe.

Day 7: A brisk morning ride is guaranteed to wake you up! For lunch, you will visit a farm where cheese is produced, which you can of course try right away. Some of the best cheeses in the world come from the Cape region! After lunch you can go swimming with your horse - the reservoir with its clear water invites you for refreshment! The farewell dinner you will enjoy in a typical African restaurant and review the many wonderful impressions and experiences of the week.

Day 8: After breakfast you start for a last ride into the vineyards. Your destination is one of the most spectacular viewpoints of the region, where you will enjoy the breathtaking view with a soft drink and snacks. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to relax at the pool before heading to the airport. If you have a late return flight, you can also take the opportunity for some last minute shopping at the V&A Waterfront.

After a 2-hour panoramic ride you will meet your horses and start the ride through the unique fynbos landscape with its typical heath vegetation and impressive variety of plants, through dunes. Near Gansbaai you will reach the wonderfully wide, lonely sandy beach. Here you will find numerous beautiful opportunities for long gallops, with a little luck during the season even with the odd whale that accompanies you in the waves! After the approx. four-hour ride you will drive to Hermanus for lunch. Hermanus is a pretty little town with an inviting atmosphere and excellent whale watching opportunities from the land. (Depending on the tides you will visit Hermanus in the morning and ride in the afternoon).

Day trip to the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Peninsula with visit to the penguin colony
You drive along the spectacular coast of the Cape Peninsula, through pretty fishing villages and small towns, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Noordhoek or Simons Town to the Cape, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. The drive along Chapmans Peak to the most south-western point of Africa is simply breathtakingly beautiful and the cliffs are among the highest in the world! At the cape there are not only the old and new lighthouse but also wonderful easy hiking trails and of course always fantastic views! There is plenty of time to explore before continuing along the picturesque False Bay through small villages to the penguin colony. This tour is one of the most worth seeing tours in the whole Cape region!

Day trip for diving with the great white shark
The supplier we have ed for you works extremely responsibly according to the principles of environmental protection. The Great White Shark is one of the most fascinating creatures of our seas and an encounter with it is a unique experience. You will be accompanied by a shark biologist who can tell you a lot of interesting facts about the Great White Shark. The whole team is extremely professional and has a long experience in shark diving.

Program for non-riders: For non-riding companions there are countless possibilities for excursions in the area, be it to the Cape, for whale watching (season from approx. June to November) or simply to the beach for swimming or for water sports, diving, etc. (the next beach is 40 minutes away by car). The next golf course Pearl Valley Golf Course is 20 min away by car, as well as many other golf courses including the famous Boschenmeer Course. Wellness, sauna, massages etc. are possible at any time in the neighbouring 5-star SPA Hotel Santé.

You have the choice between farm accommodation directly on the horse farm, the middle class hotel Klein Waterval or the 5-star boutique hotel Angala:

Farm Accommodation
You will live right next to the stables at the foot of the majestic Simonsberg. The simple, small guest rooms are furnished in country style in a rustic and comfortable way and each has its own small bathroom with shower/WC. There are two double rooms (with double bed) and TWIN (with 2 separate beds). In each room there is also a safe, refrigerator, fan and the possibility to make coffee or tea (a light breakfast with muesli, yoghurt and biscuits, as well as fruit on request you prepare yourself). In front of the rooms you have a small sitting area with a view over the paddocks where the horses graze, the vineyards and orchards.

Small Waterval
This beautiful and family friendly accommodation is situated in the charming Franschhoek Valley, surrounded by vineyards with a view of the mountains. From Franschhoek it is a 10 minute drive, from Stellbosch 20 minutes to this great accommodation. From here it is not far to the surrounding sights and activities. Nearby are well-known wine farms, historic villages and beautiful mountain passes. Of course you can also visit nearby Franschhoek, the gastronomic capital of South Africa.

5-star boutique hotel Angala
This exclusive boutique hotel will delight you with a warm family atmosphere, personal and attentive service, excellent cuisine and an elegant, modern style. Location and Surroundings: The riding farm (farm) as well as the hotels (5 min. from the stables, car transfer included) are picturesquely situated at the foot of the Simonsberg, in the heart of the Winelands. Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek are each a good 10-20 minute drive away. Cape Town is about 30 minutes away and the airport is about 40 minutes away, as well as the nearest beach. Due to this ideal location the destination is perfect for both riders and non-riding companions.


Saddle & Tack: Mainly very comfortable trail saddles, especially McClellan and English, English bridles.

Experience: Rides and beach rides: Advanced riders, saddle strength, experience in off-road riding and mastery of all gaits required. For beginners there are separate, quieter and shorter rides as well as riding lessons in separate, small groups.

Horses: about 30 horses: Thoroughbred, Arabian, Anglo-Arabian, Boer, warmblood, Basuto ponies, Frisian mix.
Lovingly groomed, sociable and well trained, with a secure terrain and forward movement. For riders of all levels there is the right horse.
