You follow the paths of the Bedouins and experience the diversity of what is undoubtedly the most beautiful desert in the world. Constantly changing rock formations, sand and sandstone desert in alternating, bright colors make this ride in Jordan a unique experience. The rides lead through impressive canyons and into the Disi Mountains. There is no plan, no map: here you rely on the millennia-old trade routes of the caravans. The evenings end comfortably around the campfire while the stars twinkle above you. You will be spoiled with falafel, humus and many other culinary specialties.
Another highlight of your trip is swimming in the Red Sea and the Dead Sea, pure relaxation in the saltiest water in the world. You will also have a whole day to visit Petra, the pink rock city of the Nabataeans and a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Itinerary

Wadi Rum 9 days:

Day 1: Arrival in Amman, transfer to a 3-star hotel in Madaba.

Day 2: Drive to Petra (approx. 3 hours). Classic sightseeing tour of Petra accompanied by an English-speaking guide. Through the narrow gorge, the “Siq,” you will reach the central temple, which was carved into a mighty rock face. Some columns from Roman times still remain, and the countless caves are even older. An impressive play of shapes and colors awaits you. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Ride through Beidha (“Little Petra”), the historic city of the Nabataeans and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. AE and overnight stay in a desert camp in Petra.

Day 4: After breakfast, transfer to Diseh at the entrance to Wadi Rum. From here, you will start your ride through Wadi Rum. First, you will ride through the wide valley of Anafisha towards Barrah Canyon. At noon, you will reach the desert camp, where you will take a longer lunch break. In the late afternoon, you will go on another ride to a steep rock face with Talmudic in ions (including camels and other animals). You will also pass the striking red rock Um Twiguy. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

Day 5: After breakfast in the camp, you will ride to Barrah Canyon, a deep gorge framed by steep rock walls. On the other side, you will encounter meter-high red sand dunes, a beautiful place. Picnic and lunch break in the shade of the rocks. In the afternoon, you will continue through small canyons, past yellow and red rocks until you arrive back at the camp in the evening.

Day 6: Today you will ride through a sandy plain with rocks, including the “Mushroom,” which looks like a mushroom. Around noon, you will reach the famous Barrah rock bridge. The natural archway provides the perfect back for photos! If you feel like it, you can also climb the rock bridge on foot. After lunch, another route leads through Wadi Rum with views of the red rocky mountains back to the camp.

Day 7: You ride through Ghazaly Canyon in the heart of Wadi Rum and continue towards the stables, passing the well and the ruins of the house of Lawrence of Arabia. Enjoy the unique panorama of desert and rocks once again. After lunch, return to Madaba. Dinner in a traditional restaurant in the center and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: After breakfast, drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at 400 meters below sea level. You can float in the salt water without sinking! Enjoy the comfort of a private beach at a 5-star hotel, where you will also have lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in Madaba.

Day 9: Breakfast. Transfer to Amman airport and return flight.

Wadi Rum 8 days:
Same itinerary, returning to Madaba on the evening of the 7th day and departing on the 8th day after breakfast. The visit to the Dead Sea is omitted.

Petra Trail 10 days:

Day 1: Arrival

Day 2: Visit the Crusader castles in Kerak and Shobak, lunch in Shobak, pick up horses and ride from Shobak through the Wadi Araba towards Beida.

Days 3-6: Explore Beida (Little Petra) on horseback, overnight stay in a beautiful desert camp with romantic campfire and music...

Day 7: Sightseeing tour of Petra and the Siq on foot, continue to Aqaba with a stop at a monastery in a special location. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 8: Swimming in the Red Sea, drive to the famous Wadi Rum, overnight stay in a Bedouin tent.

Day 9: Swimming in the Dead Sea, return to Madaba.

Day 10: Departure.

Accomodation
You will spend all nights in accommodation with showers and toilets. If you wish, you can of course also look for a place in the open air in Wadi Rum. You will spend the first night in Madaba in a good middle-class hotel. Afterwards you will spend a pleasant night in the Seven Wonders Desert Camp in Petra.
In Wadi Rum you will spend the night in a permanent desert camp with camp beds, food tent, shower and toilets. From here you can explore the major sights of desert.
The last two nights will be spent in Madaba at the hotel.

Petra-Wadi-Rum 10 days: You will spend four nights in good hotels in Madaba, Petra and Aqaba. You will spend three nights in a tented camp and two nights in comfortable desert camps in Petra and Wadi Rum.

Saddle & Tack: Comfortable English saddles and trail saddles with saddlebags.

Experience: You should have been riding regularly for at least 5 years and have sufficient riding experience. The horses are sometimes spirited, but very easy to ride. They can go forward in all gaits, but are mostly ridden at a walk, as there is a lot to see! Riding time daily up to approx. 5 hours. Maximum rider weight 85 kg (incl. riding clothes!).

Horses: Mostly mares and geldings are ridden. They are purebred Arabians and Anglo-Arabians that are perfectly adapted to the conditions at desert . Please note that Arabians are spirited and sensitive horses and therefore require good riding experience as well as a certain sensitivity when riding (reins relax!).
