Unser Tipp

Spend a few days before or after the tour in Krakow - it´s worth it! There are many sights in and around Krakow and you can spend a few days in the city.

Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf

The Bieszczady are a low mountain range in south-eastern Poland and the neighbouring areas in Slovakia and Ukraine. This huge area is hardly developed for tourism and is one of the most beautiful regions in Poland - a paradise for those who seek peace, solitude and a lot of nature.
The mountains in the Bieszczady region are known for their rich flora & fauna as well as some wild animals such as bears and wolves. Foxes, hares, deer and bison are also at home here and can cross your path again and again. You will ride again and again through typical Polish villages, which have a lot of history and tradition to offer. You will cross mountain rivers, ride through forests and along a few fields. Wonderful views are offered to you on the unwooded heights.

Reiseverlauf

Day 1: Arrival in Krakow and transfer to the hotel. You have time to visit the city and get to know the beautiful Krakow. In the evening you will meet your fellow riders in the hotel restaurant and have time to talk in a relaxed atmosphere.

Day 2: Sanok - Wola Piotrowa
You will be driven to Sanok today (about 4 hours transfer time - departure time about 6 am). Around 9 am you will stop for breakfast before you continue towards Sanok. Sanok is located near the Polish-Ukrainian-Slovakian border. There you will meet your horses and start for a first ride in the surroundings. You will cross large, wide areas and pass some forests. The untouched nature and the gallops will inspire you!

Day 3: Wola Piotrowa - Roztoki Dolne
A wonderful ride awaits you today - endless gallops across seemingly endless meadows and beautiful forests. You will cross open areas and ride through abandoned villages that lost many locals during the Vistula Action (the Vistula Action refers to the forced resettlement of ethnic Ukrainians, bojks and lemks from south-eastern Poland to the north and west of the state territory in 1947) - a place rich in history! Today you will spend the night in Wola Piotrowa with locals. On the way you will pass some old graves, which are now covered by plants. You will stop in the village of Turzansk, which is famous for its 19th century Gothic wooden church and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Carpathian region in Poland and Ukraine.

Day 4: Roztoki Dolne - Rybne
Today is another day for absolute nature lovers. You ride over wide fields and endless forests. Enjoy the peace and solitude and use the trails for longer gallops. Again and again you will pass smaller, deserted villages and reach the small town of Zernica - there you will find an orthodox church which you can visit.

Day 5: Rybne - Terka
Once again we will go into the open terrain - the vastness and silence here will inspire you! Today you follow the winding mountain paths uphill until you enjoy a wonderful view of the Solina reservoir. This has an area of 2200ha and is the largest reservoir in Poland. The water is up to 60m deep and is fed by the two rivers San and Solinka.
You will pass the small village of Bukowiec and have the opportunity to visit another orthodox church (in Gorzanka). If the weather is fine, you can then climb up the Korbania mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the region.

Day 6: Terka - Postolov
Today you ride along the Solina reservoir and can look forward to magnificent views. Again and again you will cross the river San - to the delight of all riders!

Day 7: Postolow - Sanok
Today you will ride slowly back towards Sanok, where you started your tour at the beginning of the week. You ride along the trail through beautiful forests near the Slonne mountains. On the way you will have the opportunity to visit the ruins of Sobien Castle. The Sobien Castle was a medieval fortified and residential complex in the San Valley in the Polish voivodeship of the Carpathian Foothills. Today, it is a ruin surrounded by woods and embedded in nature, which belongs to the village of Manasterzec. Afterwards you cross the San River and reach the largest ethnographic park in Poland: there are several museum buildings here reflecting different ethnic groups that lived near the Polish-Urkain border area. You will see different stages of life from the 17th-20th century in the form of farms, orthodox churches and mills and you can easily see the life of that time.
You can also choose another path that leads to the ruins of the Barefoot Carmelites, a religious order of the Catholic Church. You will spend the night in Sanok.

Day 8: Sanok - Cracow
After breakfast you will be driven back to Krakow (about 4 hours drive) to the airport or to the hotel, if you have booked a connecting program and want to stay longer in Krakow.

The program is subject to change due to unforseeable incidents.
