Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf
Close to nature in the middle of Herzegovina, near the Croatian border, the family-run Ranch is far away from noise, traffic and everyday stress. Surrounded by rolling hills, wide fields and unspoilt countryside, a place of tranquillity awaits you, where slowing down and experiencing nature with horses takes center stage to stand. The family has been breeding and training horses for over 20 years. They are dedicated to passing on their love and passion for horses to their guests. Here you are not only introduced to the nature and culture of Herzegovina, but also to the local riding style.
The rides always take place in small groups so that individual wishes can be catered for. You to ride past lakes, rivers, vineyards and along historic paths. Each season lends its own magic to the surroundings and makes every ride a unique experience. You will spend the night at Ranch in the comfort of a guest house with a pool. In addition to riding, you will also experience everyday life on a lively farm with animals and enjoy regional specialties.
Reiseverlauf
Day 1: Arrival at Split airport and transfer to the accommodation. Before dinner, the hosts will give you a short introduction to the planned rides, the horses and Ranch. In the evening, you will enjoy a home-cooked dinner together.
Day 2: You start the morning with a cup of tea or coffee and breakfast. Then you will meet at stable where you will be allocated the horses and prepare for the first test ride. Your guide will take care to find the right horse for you. Everyone grooms and saddles their own horse. Your guide will be at your side at all times if you need help. After the first ride, you will enjoy a delicious lunch, followed by a short rest break. In the late afternoon, you will go for another ride before dinner.
Day 3: In the morning you collect the horses and prepare them for today's ride. Today's ride begins uphill through the village Blazevici, where you ride past the local church of St. Luke, the patron saint of horses and animals. You return to Ranch for lunch. After a short break, you will take another ride to Krenica-lake. The lake is known for its legends, its beauty and a depth of over 45 meters. You to ride first ride through the vast hayfields of Herzegovina and, with a little luck, you will encounter wild animals such as hares, wild ducks, pheasants and various bird species. You take a short break at lake before returning to Ranch to ride. to ride In summer, if the weather is good, you have the option of following the route without saddle and swimming together with the horses. Dinner is served at Ranch - with traditional food and drinks.
Day 4: After breakfast, you start your ride directly from Ranch and cross small water channels. You to ride pass wide fields where flocks of sheep graze. You reach the vast artemisia fields - as the name suggests, these are covered with the intensely fragrant herb artemisia. They gallop through the fragrant fields before stopping for a break in the shade of the trees to stop. The horses are allowed to graze while the rider enjoy a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, you make your way back to Ranch, to ride along water channels and passing vineyards on the way. Back at Ranch, you will help unsaddle the horses and take them back to the paddocks. Dinner is then served at Ranch.
Day 5: Today's ride begins near the vineyards and leads past orchards and fields of corn, potatoes and wheat (depending on the season). You to ride pass through small villages and follow a route uphill over the hill Svetigora. After crossing, you reach a very quiet valley called "Omerovac", a family-run area surrounded by four hills (Svetigora, Krstina, Ograda and Orlov Kuk). Here you can enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature on the family farm, in the deep shade of oak trees. There is an opportunity for a game of football or other activities, such as traditional games from Herzegovina. Today's ride is characterized by many ascents and descents and takes you far away from traffic and civilization through a particularly peaceful and unspoilt landscape. On the way back from valley you stop at a necropolis with ancient Roman tombstones. Afterwards, to ride takes you downhill back to Ranch, where dinner is served.
Day 6: Today is a very special day, as you will be riding to ride on the route of the national endurance riding championship. You follow the river Matica, which changes its name at every village it crosses until it finally flows into the Adriatic Sea. There are beautiful places along the way where you can take a break and cool down the horses. Both rider and horses enjoy their lunch and a relaxing break right on the banks of the river. After lunch to ride you continue along the river, cross small canals and finally return to Ranch
Day 7: The last day has the most beautiful route in store for you. After breakfast to tack up you take the horses for one last ride around the beautiful Nugalake. First to ride you ride uphill to the entrance of the famous Ravlica pecina cave. After visiting the cave, continue your ride to the source of the Matica River. The area is known for its old water mills, which were once used to grind grain for bread. Today, only the old buildings and some remains of the mills can be seen by visitors. A picnic lunch is served at river, followed by a short visit to the "Pec Mlini" park. After the break to rear you get back on the horses and to ride back to Nuga-lake. From there, take another route that will take you back to Ranch The horses are unsaddled at the stables and can relax while you stop for dinner at the clubhouse.

You will spend the night directly at Ranch in a guest house with double rooms with private bathrooms. Three rooms are available in the guest house to stand Single rooms only available to a limited extent and upon request at an extra charge. Special dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian) can be catered for by prior arrangement.
