This 6 day ride suits very sporty riders. On four riding days to ride you will ride for up to 5 to 6 hours a day (approx. 140 km in total) at a lively pace. Extensive trotting and cantering sections await you on country lanes, the plains and the beach of Ampuria. A beach gallop is also on the program. You will be accommodated in various country inns and hotels.

Itinerary

Day 1: You will arrive at farm in the late afternoon and meet the team there. After dinner, you will discuss the week's program together. You will be informed about the special characteristics of the Arabian and crossbred Ango-Arabian trail horses that are suitable for endurance. Personal discussions will be held to find the perfect horse for each rider.

Day 2: Today's ride is promising. The entire route passes through a landscape of cultivated fields cutting into the clearings of the poplar forest on the banks of the River Ter, with small scattered settlements integrated into the landscape. You to ride through mosaic fields and enjoy some excellent gallops. For lunch, you stop in a grove at river, near the pretty village of Verges, and are welcomed with a refreshing drink. In the second part of the day, you follow the path to Torroella de Montgri at an easy pace and then the river again until you reach your accommodation, a beautiful country house that has been inhabited by a Catalan family for five generations. Dinner takes place in a convivial atmosphere in the large main dining room.

Day 3: After breakfast, you set off in a northerly direction to reach the beach of La Gola. You to ride through the natural areas of La Gola del Ter, La Platera or El Ter Vell and have the opportunity to admire fantastic beach landscapes. At Fonollera beach, the river forms a lagoon and flows completely into the sea off the Medes Islands. You are right at the mouth of the River Ter. You cross the Ter to Torroella and to ride then continue into the Montgrí massif with its imposing castle, which dominates the valley . In the upper pine forest you will enjoy the picnic of the day to tighten and an incomparable view. Then it's gently downhill to LEscala, until you reach Sant Marti d Empuries, which is situated on a hill from where you can see the old Greek pier. Today, an excellent paella, one of the most popular dishes in the coastal region, is served for dinner.

Day 4: You trot your horses one kilometer down to the beach. In front of you stretches the long bay of Roses, a golden sandy beach that stretches for miles. On the beach, you can get carried away with exciting gallops. Then it's back inland again, along the River Fluvia, past a bird sanctuary where you can observe flocks of migratory birds. After a short break in Sant Pere Pescador, the route continues through flat terrain with many rice plantations and peach, pear and apple orchards in the surrounding area. The pace is brisk today. At lunchtime you enjoy a hearty picnic in a pine forest, then to ride you continue along a series of paths and forest tracks and finally reach Riding centre. The horses are back home and you end the afternoon in the garden with a view of the horses. Dinner is prepared from homemade cuisine with delicious local wines and fresh produce.

Day 5: After a good breakfast, to tack up you harness the horses. Then you discover the famous Bascara racecourse, which is unfortunately closed for maintenance, on paths through fields and oak forests. After our daily picnic near the river and in the shade of old plantains, this time we head to Can Grau via more mountainous paths. On the way there to ride you pass through Les Serres and enjoy the view of the Sant Mer hermitage. Finally, a friendly farewell from the team with Catalan cava. A relaxing dip in the pool before dinner.

Accomodation
Selected charming horse farms, country houses, guesthouses and hotels, mostly rooms with shower/WC are the accommodations on this tour.

Saddle & Tack: Endurance saddles & English saddles. Western saddles on request. Saddle bags for personal belongings and the lunch picnic are provided.

Experience: Comfortable in all gaits and safe on different types of horses on a trail even at a brisk pace. Good condition required. Riding time approx. 5-7 hours daily. Total distance approx. 170 km.

Horses: Andalusier, Andalusier-Mix and Arabians.
