North of Manacor, on a huge estate, lies a beautiful finca with a riding stable on a hill. Numerous animals live on the farm: cats, dogs, ducks, chickens, pigs, sheep, cattle and around 40 horses frolic in spacious paddocks and pastures. Let your soul unwind on a farm holiday! During a ride, you will also encounter wild goats and tortoises, as well as many species of birds that will sweeten your morning with their singing. The guest house is nestled in lush Mediterranean vegetation with palm trees, algarves, ficus, orange, lemon and olive trees and huge cacti. In winter, the orange and lemon trees are laden with fruit. After riding, guests can relax by the beautiful pool, on the large covered terrace with barbecue or in the garden.
The riding stable below the guest house consists of huge paddocks and a cosy lounge area with a small bar, where riders like to meet for a beer after their ride. There is also a riding arena for horse training and for beginners to try out riding. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, a child or an adult, there is a suitable horse and riding programme for everyone here! Non-riders are also welcome and will find plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area.
The owners of the farm, a local family of riders, are completely devoted to horses and mainly take in animals from poor conditions as well as retired sport or breeding horses. Some are sold on after training, while others enjoy their new life on the finca as trail horses. The colourful herd lives all year round in spacious paddocks and meadows.

Itinerary

La Ruta Estrella:
An intensive week of riding for advanced riders, with approx. 24 hours in the saddle, during which you will explore the whole diversity of Mallorca from the saddle. 5 days of riding with approx. 4-5 hours daily in the saddle. Some of the horses are transported to the starting point so that you can explore the island on horseback from the beach to the Tramuntana mountains. A day off from riding gives you time to relax and go on your own excursions.

Day 1: After settling into your apartment, you will enjoy dinner with the other riders at the finca.

Day 2: First ride on the finca. After the horses have been allocated, the morning ride takes you through private land, across cow and sheep pastures to a beautiful viewpoint with views of the mountains in the northeast and the sea. The route then continues along narrow trails through wooded hills. With a little luck, you may encounter wild goats or tortoises. A wide path takes you back through the cattle pastures to the starting point. There are also a few galloping stretches along the way. At lunchtime, you return to the finca, where you can recharge your batteries with a delicious paella. In the afternoon, you go on another ride in the surrounding area.

Day 3: Following in the footsteps of the historic railway line, the ‘Via Verde’: Another ride from the ranch takes you to the nearby village of Sant Llorenç. Enjoy several long gallops along the old railway tracks and fast gallops on the sections towards the village. The former railway line is now filled with sand and offers wonderful galloping opportunities! On the way, you will stop at the old railway station, which has been converted into a restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal with a magnificent view of the village.

Day 4: Today, a brisk ride through the rural heart of Mallorca awaits you: along narrow country roads, open fields, past orchards and along gentle paths that are perfect for long gallops. You will pass through huge orange and almond groves, which are in bloom or full of fruit depending on the season. You will return to the stables for lunch. The afternoon is free for you to relax by the pool or visit a beautiful bay, a monastery or Manacor.

Day 5: The beach ride! You will travel by van to a nature reserve in the north-east of the island (approx. 45 minutes). Through the picturesque pine forest, you will follow narrow paths and wider sandy trails to the beach. If the weather and other conditions allow, you can go swimming with the horses without a saddle! Completely detached from civilisation. There are also a few nice galloping stretches today.

Day 6: Santuari de Lluc Tramuntana Mountains: Ride through a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Get ready for steep climbs, breathtaking views and pilgrimage sites. This full-day route takes you through the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover ancient forest trails that open up to rugged mountains where eagles soar high above and wild goats roam amid breathtaking scenery. For centuries, pilgrims have walked these ancient paths that lead to the famous Lluc monastery, where a meal awaits you in the restaurant.

Day 7: Departure.

Beginners' programme:

Day 1: Arrival and dinner together.

Day 2: First contact with the horses. Your guide will show you how to approach the horse correctly and lead it safely from the paddock. Then you will groom and saddle the horses together. Now it's time to mount – this also takes practice! This is followed by instruction in the arena, riding off, stopping, turning... Then it's time for your first walk in the pastures of the finca.

Days 3-5: You consolidate your handling of the horse and prepare for riding. Back at the farm, you will continue practising salom riding and your first trot. Most of the riding takes place in the countryside around the finca, where there is no traffic, only sheep and cattle. You will ride across wide fields, through pasture gates, to a viewpoint with a view of the mountains and the sea, and through the wooded hills. Here you will learn to ride up and down narrow paths and guide your horse over stones, small ditches and narrow passages. If possible, you will also try your first gallop. The rides vary from day to day and we explore the area around the ranch on horseback.

Day 6: The grand finale is a trip to the beach! You will travel north-east to a nature park with the horse trailer. The route takes you through idyllic pine forests and along sandy paths to two beautiful bays. After about two hours in the saddle, you will return to the ranch for lunch together. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the pool again or visit the many farm animals.

Day 7: Breakfast and departure.

Other leisure activities: Visit the Tramuntana mountains in the north-west of Mallorca (approx. 1 hour's drive), the nature parks and bays, take a boat trip or hire a bike to explore the relatively flat east of the island. The island is also known for its monasteries, most of which are perched on mountains with magnificent views. The old towns of the surrounding cities with their narrow streets and churches are also worth seeing and offer nice places to stop for delicious tapas, paellas, etc. The caves near Manacor and the almond and orange groves at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, which are in full bloom in winter, are also well known.

Accomodation
At the farm, you will stay in apartments with 2 to 4 bedrooms. All are equipped with air conditioning/heating, a kitchen with dining area, 1-3 bathrooms and a terrace. All are lovingly furnished in a traditional style and offer plenty of space and comfort. The pool, large covered terrace with barbecue area and seating areas in the garden are also available for guests to use.

Saddle & Tack: Snaffle, curb bit and English or trail riding saddles.

Experience: From beginner to advanced, depending on your riding experience, you can take part in the various rides. Riding week Ruta Estrella Only for advanced riders with confidence in all gaits, including trail-riding.

Horses: Approx. 20 trail horses of various breeds, mainly French trotters as well as Appaloosa and horses with Spanish and Arabian blood, up to 1.65 m height. Also three Shettland ponies for small children. All horses are well trained for trail riding, go alone or in a group. They are particularly well-balanced due to the generous herd management throughout the year.
