The passionate breeder takes you through the green mountains and to the Atlantic beach on the back of home-bred Lusitanos, where you can look forward to brisk gallops. Marvel at a mixture of Mediterranean and Atlantic flora and fauna in the "Serra do Louro" and indulge in a wine tasting of typical local wines and dishes. Finally, you will spend the night in Lisbon and have the opportunity to get to know the picturesque town .

Itinerary

Arrabia Nature Park Rides 7 days:

Day 1 (Monday): Arrive in Lisbon and make your own way to the hotel in Palmela (approx. 30 minutes from the airport). Your guide will be waiting for you here at 2 pm. Short transfer to the horses and first ride to the Louro mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Palmela. Riding time 2-3 hours.

Day 2 (Tuesday): After breakfast to ride you head into the green mountains of the Serra de Sao Luis with beautiful views of the coast. Picnic on the way and ride back to Riding centre via a different route.

Day 3 (Wednesday): Today you will explore the Sado Estuary Nature Park. As you ride through the flat fields and sandy oak and pine forests, you will also enjoy a gallop or two. You can also spot lots of birds in the wetlands. Picnic on the way.

Day 4 (Thursday): You roam the northern side of the Arrabida Nature Park, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic vegetation. Enjoy the lush nature with the panorama of mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. You will also pass a Franciscan monastery from the 16th century.

Day 5 (Friday): A highlight awaits you today with the beach ride! You ride through a pine forest and reach the cliffs and a lagoon. Now you ride along a long sandy beach at a lively gallop. You will have lunch today at the beach restaurant.

Day 6 (Saturday): You to ride through the Arrabida Nature Park to a winery with the opportunity for a wine tasting. After the picnic, you will return to farm in the afternoon. Now it's time to say goodbye and drive to Lisbon, where you will spend the night in a comfortable city hotel.

Day 7 (Sunday): Breakfast and departure.

Day 2 (Friday): Breakfast in a café on your own. Then it's off on a day's ride along the coast near Lisbon to the Albufeira lagoon. You to ride ride along the beach or through pine forests with a few gallops. You will have lunch in a restaurant on the beach with local cuisine, often with home-caught fish fish. Dinner at your leisure in Palmela and overnight stay at the hotel. Riding time approx. 5 hours.

Day 3 (Saturday): After breakfast, take a 30-minute ride on horseback to the Arrabida Nature Park. There you can explore the beautiful coastal landscape between mountains and sea . The mountainous "Serra do Louro" is characterized by olive trees, cork oak forests, pine forests and grasslands. Lunch with regional specialties followed by a wine tasting at the "Quinta do Alcube". The estate has traces of the Neolithic period, the Roman period and the 12th century - the founding period of Portugal. Today the estate is well known for its wines and cheeses. After the ride, drive to the hotel in Lisbon. Dinner on your own. Explore the nightlife of Lisbon afterwards. Riding time approx. 5 hours.

Day 4 (Sunday): Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Lisbon or departure. The hotel is around 20 minutes from the airport.

Accomodation
During the star rides, you will spend the night in a modern hotel in the center of Palmela. In the morning, you can enjoy a traditional Portuguese breakfast in a café opposite. Wines from the region and a ion of regional dishes are served in the restaurant. Lunch during the rides is usually a picnic.
The last night is spent in a centrally located historic hotel in Lisbon. There is no lack of charm and comfort here. From here, you can explore the city center and nightlife on foot.

Saddle & Tack: English saddles, as well as Iberian and Australian saddles and English bridles. All saddles are provided with a lambskin.

Experience: Min. 3-5 years, comfortable in all gaits and trail experience.
