Itinerary
Münstertal riding experience:
Day 1: Arrive and enjoy the atmosphere of the picturesque mountain village.
Day 2: The morning begins with a 1.5-hour session during which you and your horse get to know each other. The focus is on trust and harmony to stand in order to create a good basis for the upcoming weekend.
In the afternoon, you will set off on a half-day ride of approx. 4 hours, which will take you through the impressive terrain of the Münstertal valley along country lanes, mountain paths and dense forests, offering a variety of routes to be mastered at a walk, trot and canter.
Day 3: The highlight of the weekend! The day's ride takes you through a variety of terrain—from trails to wide paths—and challenges both you and your horse. Along the way, you'll enjoy a lunch break in the great outdoors before continuing on your way. Lunch is included. This intensive tour is ideal for rider who love challenges and want to actively experience the mountains.
Day 4: Before heading home, you will experience a final two-hour ride in the morning. The trails to lead uphill and downhill through the unique landscape of Val Müstair - a crowning finale to a weekend full of riding pleasure.
Riding weekend in Münstertal:
Day 1: Arrive and enjoy the tranquillity of the farm.
Day 2: On Saturday morning you start with a session that builds trust between you and your horse and gets you in tune with each other. The afternoon is dedicated to riding: A four-hour half-day ride takes you through varied terrain - from dirt tracks to mountain trails. At a walk, trot and canter, you will experience pure riding pleasure and discover the beauty of Val Müstair from a new perspective.
Day 3: On Sunday, a two-hour horseback ride rounds off the weekend. The trails to lead lead uphill and downhill, past spectacular landscapes that invite you to pause and reflect.
Weekend trail:
Day 1: The route climbs up to Lü via narrow farm tracks and paths. The former "municipality" of Lü lies in Val Müstair. At 1920 m above sea level, Lü was the third-highest political municipality in Switzerland. The view of the mountains opposite is breathtaking. The route continues through Val Mora, a high-altitude (approx. 2,300 m above sea level) flat valley between imposing mountain peaks. The path leads up past the typical alpine vegetation zones, moorland meadows, watercourses and waterfalls, and with every step forward the surrounding landscape changes from the mountain farming zone in the Münstertal to the high alpine steppe.
With a bit of luck and a good eye, you might spot the natural inhabitants of Val Mora: chamois, red deer, roe deer, grouse, black grouse, mountain hares, marmots and vultures.
Day 2: A gently ascending mountain path leads up to the Fuorcla Funatan da S-Charl mountain saddle at 2393 m above sea level. The descent is via Minschuns, which is used as a small, fine ski resort in winter and offers tranquil peace and quiet in summer.
Weekend trekking:
Day 1: The first day takes you towards South Tyrol and on through the secluded Avingatal valley. Alpine terrain and narrow paths to lead take you to S-charl. The small Engadine mountain village impresses with its unique character. Overnight stay in a high alpine hotel. Important: No luggage transportation is possible on this stage. Please only pack the essentials in the saddlebags provided.
Day 2: Today's ride takes you through the S-charl-valley. The route offers you ever-changing views of the surrounding mountains. The stage destination is the Ofen Pass (Pass dal Fuorn). At your next accommodation, you have the option of having your suitcase delivered by us. Overnight stay in a high alpine hotel.
Day 3: The last day of riding takes you through the legendary Val Mora - the "Canada of Switzerland". The high-altitude Flachtal valley impresses with its vastness and tranquillity. You may come across chamois, red deer, marmots, black grouse or ptarmigans. The route leads along alpine mountain paths back to Val Müstair and to Riding centre. Departure after arrival.
Horsemanship course (3 days):
Horsemanship is not a separate type of riding. It is a basic training for humans and horses. In this course you will learn how to treat horses respectfully and naturally and how to gain their trust and build a partnership.
During this 3-day introductory course, you will acquire the necessary (basic) knowledge, train your observation skills and perception of horse communication and human/horse interaction with initial ground work exercises and riding units.
The goal of natural horsemanship is to achieve a harmonious partnership between humans and horses. This requires the ability to understand the behavior and body language of horses and to adapt one's own posture and behavior accordingly: both in ground work and when riding, only methods and aids should be used that do not overwhelm Horse
Course times
On Friday 13.00- 16.00,
Saturday and Sunday 9.30-11.30 and 13.00- 15.30.
The course consists of 4 parts (theory, ground work, riding lessons, trail ride)
On Sunday afternoon there is a 2-2.5 hour ride at the end.
