Experience the fascinating landscape around Kemer on a varied short ride between the mountains and the Mediterranean. The journey takes you from the green highland regions of the Kesme Boğazı Gorge and the national park to the stunning coastline near Tekirova. One day is entirely devoted to the mountainous landscape: you’ll discover the impressive natural surroundings of Kemer whilst gaining an insight into traditional rural life and local agriculture. You’ll then head to the coast, where two days full of Mediterranean riding adventures await you. Ride through the beautiful Tekirova Bay, enjoy brisk gallops along the beach and experience that special moment when your horses wade into the warm Mediterranean with you. There’s no shortage of cultural highlights either: a visit to the ancient city of Phaselis combines the riding experience with a fascinating glimpse into the region’s history. Along the way, there’ll be time to get to know authentic life on the Turkish Riviera and enjoy simple, home-made specialities. A varied getaway for anyone wishing to combine mountains, sea, nature, culture and genuine Turkish country life.

Christmas ride: During this special Christmas ride, you’ll experience all four seasons – the climate changes daily as you ride from the mountains down to the sea. Along the way, you’ll visit traditional villages, including the one where Saint Nicholas lived and preached. You’ll stay in hotels and, on one occasion, camp right on the beach.

Christmas Riding Tour (8 days, 5 days’ riding)

Day 1: Arrival at Antalya Airport, Turkey. Group transfer to the hotel. Please ensure you arrive no later than 7.00 pm. Welcome dinner

Day 2: After breakfast, you’ll meet the horses, saddle up and set off on your ride. You’ll ride for an hour through the village of Kuzdere and the Kesme Boğazi Canyon, and have lunch in the canyon (packed lunch). After the lunch break, you’ll ride for a further two hours into the mountains to the village of Gedelme, where you’ll spend the night. Overnight stay in a local camp with bungalows. Dinner by the campfire.

Day 3: After breakfast, you’ll ride even higher into the mountains and visit the hidden valley of Ovacık (long stretches of galloping). You’ll then turn back and descend on the other side of the mountain to reach the snow line and ride through a 2,000-year-old plane tree forest. Approximately 5–6 hours in the saddle.

Day 4: After breakfast, you’ll ride back to the village of Kuzdere and the ranch. You’ll have lunch en route and finish the ride with dinner at a cosy restaurant (before dinner, you’ll have time for a Turkish bath and a massage). Approx. 3 hours in the saddle.

Day 5: After breakfast, you’ll set off on a sightseeing tour to the ancient city of Mira and St Nicholas’ Church in Demre. There you can make a wish. It is said that it is sure to come true. If you like Greek myths, especially Pegasus, you can also visit the Mount of the Chimera in the village of Cirali. This is where Pegasus was first ridden (on your own initiative, additional cost). Lunch and dinner en route at local cafés. After the excursion, you can relax in a Turkish bath with spa and massage (additional cost). Overnight stay at the hotel. (No riding today)

Day 6: After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll set off on your trip to the seaside. You’ll ride through the village of Camyuva, stop for lunch in the ancient city of Phaselis, pass through the village of Tekirova and reach the campsite at Teke Bay. The route runs along the coast, offering magnificent views and some lovely gallops. That night, weather permitting, you’ll spend the night in a tent right on the beach.

Day 7: Breakfast at your campsite. Anyone who wishes can go fishing with the guide. Today you’ll ride through several bays before heading back home. You’ll round off the day with a delicious dinner and Turkish sweets. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel and group transfer to the airport.

During the winter months of January to March, the mountains are not crossed. On the fifth day, therefore, a day without riding is scheduled, offering opportunities for a sightseeing tour.
