Do you love the mountains but aren't sure if you could go on a trail ride?
Then we have the ideal alternative for you, where you can still ride in the Pyrenees and not miss out on anything.
So if you are not an experienced rider, perhaps lack the fitness for a trail ride in the mountains, or would like to holiday with someone who doesn't ride, you can get to know the Pyrenees and experience them on horseback. From the riding centre, you can go on half-day rides and even a full-day ride, allowing you to enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery.

And if some members of your family are not riders, they can go hiking or get beginner riding lessons. In your free time, you can relax or explore the mountains on foot. There are also many activities and beautiful places to visit in the surrounding area, such as a wildlife park, Lake Matemale, climbing, fishing and, of course, hiking. There is something for everyone during a holiday in the Pyrenees!

The Pyrenees are not just a spectacular mountain range, but also a region of natural diversity with numerous lakes, alpine forests, alpine meadows and rugged mountain slopes. This is the perfect destination for mountain lovers!
Located in the Pyrénées-Orientales department, the region also offers a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Vegetables from the Roussillon plain, various mountain cheeses, sausages and meat products, and of course wines.

Close to the Spanish border, the region also has a lively history. The citadel of Mont-Louis, a World Heritage Site, is the best example of this.

Itinerary

Beginners' week:
You can learn to ride in the heart of the mountains and even explore the Capcir plateau on horseback at the end of the week.
The first four days of riding will teach you the basics of riding so that you can set off on your day trip at the end of the week with confidence. Experience the beautiful mountains and plateau on horseback. The sure-footed and reliable horses, as well as the state-certified riding instructors, will help you get off to the best possible start in equestrian sports.

Advanced week:
During the first four days, you will go on half-day rides in the beautiful mountains. Experience mysterious forests, crystal-clear rivers, sparkling lakes and, with a little luck, you may even spot marmots in the mountains.
On the last day, a day trip deep into the mountains is planned across the Capcir plateau, the perfect end to a week of riding.

Accomodation
The Riding centre consists of a main house with a lounge and dining room. Accommodation is in simple guest rooms with shower/WC. The rooms have two single beds and a bunk bed, so there is room for up to four people in total. WLAN is available in the dining room of the main building but not in the rooms. In the inpatient program, you are usually accommodated in double rooms.

Saddle & Tack: Trail riding saddles and mainly bitless bridles.

Experience: Beginners and those returning to riding  after a break will get their money's worth with the Learn to Ride program. You should already confident in all gaits for the advanced week.

Horses: Approx. 25 horses, mainly Apaloosas and Pintos, very well trained, sure-footed and reliable on the trails.
