The ranch is located in north-eastern Wyoming in the famous Black Hills, not far from the borders of Montana and South Dakota. Nothing can describe the beauty of this place: endless prairies, pointed table mountains, canyons, lakes and rivers criss-cross the lonely farmland, and the rocks of Devil's Tower rise into the sky as an imposing monument in the middle of the prairie. You won't be short of the perfect back for your holiday photos here! The ranch has a herd of around 200 cattle and offers guests not only wonderful horse riding but also the opportunity to get a taste of cowboy life and cattle work. However, the focus is on long rides in the beautiful countryside. Only a maximum of 15 guests are allowed on site at any one time.

Itinerary

Every morning during breakfast, the cowboys explain the day's schedule.
Before breakfast, they bring the horses in from the pasture and put them in the paddocks, where each guest is assigned a horse for the day. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to try out several horses.
You will usually ride for 3-4 hours in the morning, return to the ranch for lunch, and go out riding again in the afternoon. Occasionally, a picnic is packed if you are out for longer.
Please note that there is no fixed programme as the work to be done varies depending on the season. There will be days when no cattle work is required. In this case, you will just go out riding for pleasure and enjoy the beautiful countryside.

April-June: Calving season
In spring, the herds must be checked daily to see if there are any newborn calves. In June, when all the calves have arrived, the traditional branding takes place, just like in the ‘old West’ with horses, ropes, sweat and dust. It's a wild spectacle where helping hands are very welcome. Please note that there is no fixed date for branding!

July-August: Cattle drives and pasture management
The herds are also checked regularly in summer and moved if necessary. Sometimes injured animals are caught and cared for, fences repaired or salt licks distributed. However, as it is not necessary to move the herd every week, you will mainly enjoy wonderful rides across the wide open countryside.

August-October: Round-ups and cattle drives
You will start with rounding up the cattle and ing which animals will be kept for the winter and which will be sold. The cattle kept on the ranch are taken to their winter pastures.
If you want to experience real cattle work, autumn is the perfect time to visit.
In addition to cattle work and long rides, you can ride in the arena and practise team penning, breakaway roping, barrel racing and/or cutting horse.

Activities without riding

During the week, one or more excursions will be organised in consultation with guests, allowing you to visit local attractions. There are many sights worth visiting around the ranch, including Devils Tower (First National Monument of America), which is only a few kilometres from the ranch, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Deadwood, etc.
If possible, you will also visit rodeos, horse auctions and other interesting local events.
For longer excursions, lunch will be eaten out (not included).

Accomodation
Guests are accommodated in a completely wooden Lodge , which is equipped with 8 bedrooms. Each room has its own bathroom with hairdryer and a comfortable bed. There is also a small log cabin separate from the main building with its own bathroom. There are no televisions, but WLAN is available.

The cozy saloon offers table football and billiards. After a long day of riding, you can swim in the lake or simply relax in the whirlpool.

There is a small store at Ranch where you can buy Western clothing and tack .

Meals: All meals are included in this package and a lot of attention is paid to the kitchen.
Please note that meal times may vary depending on the daily program.

The day starts with a good breakfast buffet with coffee/tea, fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, ham, cheese, cookies, eggs, toast, ham, etc.
