Explore the Orinoco nature reserve with its rich animal flora and fauna on horseback! The area, which covers around 16,000 hectares, is an important protected area for birds. In addition to the thousands and thousands of birds, you can feed caiman crocodiles and discover the footprints of jaguars and pumas. In addition to a herd of deer, you can spot a large herd of capybaras. And if you are lucky, you may also spot a herd of buffalo. You will also be able to enjoy the sound of harps and local performances. You will also have the opportunity to see anacondas and go fishing. At the end of the tour you can see Creole saddlers.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from El Dorado airport to the hotel in Bogotá.
Overnight stay in a hotel in Bogotá

Day 2: Transfer from your hotel to the airport for the flight from Bogotá to Yopal in the morning, then transfer to the starting point and get to know the horses. Once you have settled in after lunch, to ride you will go to the Fundo (typical house of the local population) Cascabel to admire the sunset over the Llanero. Riding time approx. 3 hours.

Day 3: After breakfast, you will cross the Aripororiver on horseback to begin the great adventure through the savannahs of Casanareñas full of native animals. Then you go to the mouth of the Babilla where you can feed caiman crocodiles!
Here you will have a typical lunch before continuing to the Capibaras (capybaras) lagoon, where you will see hundreds of them. You will walk through the caves of the Morrucos o mochuelos (Athene cunicularia), where you will sleep in Llanera style in hammocks with a mosquito net. Riding time approx. 5 hours

Day 4: After breakfast we take the "jaguar road". If we are lucky, we will see some of the tracks or footprints of jaguars and pumas, then drive to the main Hato house, which was inhabited by the Jesuits many years ago at the time of colonization. This reserve promotes the conservation and study of these animals in collaboration with the Pantera Foundation.
Here we can admire a herd of deer (white-tailed deer), a large herd of chigüiros (capybaras) and buffalo. You will see the horses that work there and learn about their roping techniques in the Llanera way. At the end of the day you will sleep in the Ecolodge Juan Solito after listening to some harp sounds, songs and local performances. Dinner at the Ecolodge. Riding time approx. 5 hours

Day 5: On this day, you will go in search of anacondas in another area of the reserve. You will ride to the "Caño el Indio", where you will also go fishing. Riding time approx. 5 hours

Day 6: After breakfast, to ride you will spend the day hiking through forests with indigenous plants and orchids. You say goodbye to the horses and to ride through the majestic Aripororiver to Caño del Indio. Lunch and then departure to Yopal. Dinner and overnight stay in Yopal. Riding time approx. 3 hours

7 Day: Today, after breakfast, you will visit Colombian Paso Fino horses being bred, have lunch and visit the area of the Creole saddlers of town Yopal, check out of the hotel and drive to the airport. Return to Bogota in the late afternoon.

This accommodation with a view of the Aripororiver offers you the option of staying in a private palm hut with its own bathroom.
