Grizzly Mountains (5 days): Just a short drive north of Whitehorse lies Grizzly Valley. As you drive up from the valley, you'll have a beautiful view of Lake Laberge, and with a little luck, you may spot some local wildlife (moose, mountain sheep, bears...). This short pack trip is the perfect escape from everyday life for anyone who wants to get a taste of the Yukon wilderness.

Tatshenshini-Alsek (6 days) : Ride through Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park, where glaciers, blue rivers, and grizzly bears coexist in perfect harmony. This week-long journey through the Yukon wilderness allows you to discover remote parts of the Yukon that few people ever get to see. You'll camp on beautiful meadows, ride rugged mountains, and enjoy nature in its purest form!
(not in 2025)

Ogilvy Caribou Trail (12 days): You will experience the last frontier, untouched land with fresh streams and rivers, mountains of every shape and full of wildlife. However, this trip is not for everyone. You must have a love and longing for the real Yukon wilderness and experience in horseback riding, hiking, camping, and enduring all types of weather in mountainous terrain. Each day you will ride for about 5-6 hours (including a lunch break) and ride from camp to camp. There will also be camp days where you can relax in beautiful locations where you can sleep in, read, drink tea/coffee, and hike to a nearby mountain. You will travel on horses with all your equipment and food for the entire trip.

Itinerary

Grizzly Mountains (5 days)

Day 1: After a hearty breakfast, load your gear and drive a short distance to the starting point, saddle up and ride up a mountain trail. As you ride up a beautiful ridge, you can see Lake Laberge behind you, where the Klondikers traveled to and from the gold rush town of Dawson City. When you reach the high mountains, take a lunch break with a view of the spectacular landscape. Back on your horses, ride through the next mountain valley to your idyllically located camp for the night.

Day 2: After a hearty breakfast around the campfire, saddle up and follow the mountain valley over Flat Creek Pass. Hopefully you'll see the moose, mountain sheep and maybe even a grizzly bear that are often found here. You'll set up camp below a mountain with many sheep trails.

Day 3: Rest day: A day to sleep in and relax. Opportunity to hike on the sheep trails and look for Dall sheep and grizzly bears.

Day 4: Pilot Mountain Ride
After breakfast, you break camp and ride along Pilot Mountain. Here, there is a good chance of seeing Dall sheep, which are often found in this area. Moose and grizzly bears are also frequently sighted. Later, you will set up camp in a cozy campsite at Pilot Mountain.

Day 5: Get up early, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and get ready for an adventurous day. You will ride through beautiful countryside. After enjoying the highlands one last time, you will descend the mountain back to the starting point of the ride and return to the ranch. Say goodbye to the horses and guide and transfer to Whitehorse. An additional night with meals can be booked.

Tashenshini-Alsek (6 days, not every year offered)

Day 1: Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the ranch before riding to the Tatshenshini River, where your ride begins. Enjoy the rushing river as you ride up a mountain valley. Grizzly bears are not uncommon, so have your camera ready! You will ride for about 2 hours and set up camp on a meadow by the river.

Day 2: Glacier ride! Wake up to the sweet smells of the Yukon, wildflowers, and the sound of the river. The horses are ready to ride, so enjoy the spectacular views as you ride to a massive glacier. You'll set up camp on a beautiful meadow close to the glacier.

Day 3: A day to sleep in. After breakfast, hike up to the glacier. Enjoy your lunch in these breathtaking surroundings! Afterwards, make your way back to camp, where you can spend a cozy evening around the campfire.

Day 4: Ride to Shinny Lake: Break camp and follow the trail to Shinny Lake. Here, too, you have the chance to see moose, bears, and mountain sheep, and sometimes even wolverines, foxes, or wolves! You are close to the coastal mountains here, so the landscape becomes more and more unique the further south you go. Enjoy a relaxing evening with the view and the cool mountain breeze.

Day 5: Shinny Valley: Sleep in or enjoy the morning mountain scents. Take a hike or horseback ride into the adventurous valleys beyond Shinny, with the possibility of seeing mountain goats, sheep, moose, and grizzly bears. Enjoy a leisurely dinner while the sun is still high in the Yukon sky.

Day 6: Wake up to find the sun high in the sky—in summer, it never really goes away. Take it all in: the mountains, the valleys, the horses, and remember where you've been and where you're still riding, through more beautiful scenery back to the Tatshenshini Trailhead.
Back at the trailhead, load the horses. On the way back, you can stop in Haines Junction for a delicious burger and French fries. Transfer to Whitehorse or additional night at the ranch.

Ogilvy Caribou Trail (12 days)

Day 1: You leave the base camp near Whitehorse and drive together to the starting point on the Dempster Highway. Here you spend the night in camp.

Day 2: Ride to the Blackstone River: Saddle up and hit the trail. Lunch on a beautiful pass with a view. In the afternoon, ride down to the Blackstone River and camp a few miles downstream. 5-6 hours of riding time.

Day 3: Ride up a pass in search of caribou, sheep, and moose. Stop at the top of the pass for lunch. Enjoy the high country and ride down into Seeley Valley. Caribou are often seen here. 5-6 hours of riding time.

Day 4: Today you can sleep in and then choose to hike or ride around the camp.

Day 5: Ride to Sheep Camp: Break camp and ride the rest of the way along Caribou Pass, then ride along the foot of the mountains, keeping an eye out for caribou and sheep as you make your way to Sheep Camp. 5-6 hours of riding time.

Day 6: Hike or ride around the camp, as you will be staying another night in this beautiful spot.
Enjoy the majestic views in the remote wilderness. There is a good chance of seeing grizzly bears, caribou, and moose.

Day 7: Icy Valley: Pack your things, enjoy the scenery, and keep an eye out for wildlife as you ride through a valley where the stream is still covered with ice in many places, even in summer. Finally, you leave the valley and ride up another pass to look for grizzly bears. Tent camp above a mountain lake. 5-6 hours riding time.

Day 8: Caribou Pass: Pack up and ride along caribou trails towards Caribou Pass. Your tent camp is located on the pass. 5-6 hours riding time.

Day 9: Seeley Ride: Pack up and ride towards Seeley and over another mountain pass with fantastic panoramic views. You will camp high up in the mountains again. 5-6 hours riding time.

Day 10: Ride to Blackstone River: You break camp and ride down the pass to Blackstone River. Lunch by the river. You ride upstream to the pass and climb it with breathtaking views.

Day 11: Last ride: Saddle up and ride back to the starting point of the tour. You have the option of spending the evening in Dawson City, where the Klondike Gold Rush began in 1898. Overnight stay once again at the camp on the Dempster Highway.

Day 12: Return to the ranch near Whitehorse. Overnight stay at the ranch with dinner (can be booked on site for an additional fee) or transfer to Whitehorse.

Day 13: Breakfast and transfer to Whitehorse.

Accomodation
You spend the nights in tents and under tarpaulins. You cook over the campfire. As you sleep in the wilderness, there are no toilets or showers during the rides, only the "bush toilet" and water for washing. Individual travelers have their own tent. All your meals are included, including wine with dinner. Please inform us of any intolerances when booking.

Saddle & Tack: Western saddles and bridles.

Experience: From medium riding experience. The pace is calm, as this is a pack horse ride. You should be fit, adventurous and confident on and around the horse, the terrain is challenging.

Horses: Draft Mix horses (light cold blood).
