Within six riding days you will ride from Aourga north of Agadir to Essaouira. You ride through Berber villages and argan groves and along beautiful wide sandy beaches. Many idyllic bays can be found between Agadir and Essaouira. The Atlantic climate offers good conditions for a ride along the coast even in high summer. There is always a light breeze and temperatures are usually around 25 degrees - pleasant for riding and swimming alike! The friendly coastal town of Essaouira is famous for its artists and musicians from all over the world. In addition to its cultural flair, the city also offers ideal conditions for water sports enthusiasts of all kinds. Outside Essaouira, on the other hand, riders get their money´s worth: lonely, wide sandy beaches invite you to gallop. A beautiful coastal trail, passing numerous Berber and fishing villages.
The Taghazoute beach Ride also shows you rural Morocco. The ride leads through the red-colored foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains over one or two passes to the Atlantic beach, past original Berber villages. On three days, you will follow the coast with its many wide sandy beaches, which invite you to take beautiful gallop

Itinerary

Essaouira Coastal Ride
Day 1:
Reception at the airport in Agadir. Transfer to the hotel in Agadir and dinner together.

Day 2: In the morning you will drive to Aourga north of Agadir, where you will meet the horses and guides. The ride leads over gentle hills through argan trees and cacti. From the hill Tizi you can see the foothills of the high Atlas with its red mountains and deep valleys. Descent to the village of Imiwader on the Atlantic Ocean, where you already enjoy your first beach canter! In the afternoon you will cross a plateau, passing several Berber villages. Your destination is the valley Ait Ameur, where you pitch your tents.

Day 3: You follow the valley to the Berber village Tamri. From here you follow the picturesque coast, characterized by sand dunes and pink rocks. In the afternoon you will ride along a narrow path along the cliffs to Assaka. The further way leads you past several small Berber villages and through a forest of argan trees. Overnight stay in a tent near the fishing village Imesouane.

Day 4: After a short visit to the fishing village, you will get back into the saddle and follow a historic route along the cliffs. The view of the sea and the cliffs is fantastic. In the afternoon, you will descend through the picturesque dunes of Tafdna to a lonely wide beach, which invites you to exuberant gallops. Overnight stay in a tent at the foot of the dunes.

Day 5: From the coast we first go into the hinterland, through fields and argan trees. You will pass again some typical Berber villages. In the afternoon you will ride back to the sea. The ride ends with a nice gallop on the beach of Iftane. Overnight stay in a tent with view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 6: You will go again to the rural hinterland. The villages here are surrounded by corn fields. You will enjoy your picnic today at the waterfalls of Marabout. Afterwards you follow the way back to the coast. Wide, beautiful sandy beaches extend to the village of Sidi Kaouki. On the lonely beaches only numerous water birds cavort. A beautiful picture when the white gulls fly up in front of the galloping horses.

Day 7: Today we continue our journey through lonely bays with wide sandy beaches, passing several fishing villages. After Cap Sim you finally reach the wide long beach off Essaouira. After a last wonderful beach canter, you leave the horses in Diabar and have lunch. Afterwards you will explore the lively city of Essaouira, where you will have plenty of opportunities to visit markets and craftsmen. Spices, silver, fine fabrics, leather goods and much more can be admired - be happy if you have enough room in your luggage. Overnight stay either in Essaouira or in Agadir, depending on the flight schedules of the guests.

Day 8: Transfer to Agadir (bus station/airport) and departure.

Taghazoute beach ride
Day 1: Flight to Agadir, reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel for a first night in Agadir.

Day 2: You make your way to the horse farm in Iwlite, 10 km north-east of Taghazoute. Then the trail ride begins, which will take you through the mountains to the ocean to lead . You will cross an agricultural area with small mountain villages (douars) and finally reach valley.
At the beginning of the green valley, you will take a picnic break. After the break, follow the valley to the palm oasis of Tadrine. Overnight stay in a guest house.

Day 3: You to ride to village Ait La hc en and then begin a long climb up to the Col de Tizi.
From Tizi you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley and the mountains of the High Atlas. On the way, you will visit an agricultural cooperative before spending your lunch break in a traditional restaurant. In the afternoon, continue your ride to the campsite in Asserne. Overnight stay in a tent camp.

Day 4: After breakfast, visit a traditional souk and then to ride via a path that takes you up to hill, from where you have a beautiful view of the Tamarutevalley. The descent to the oued then begins. Lunch break at valley. In the afternoon to rear you ascend to the Aous gmourte pass and then follow the trail to the horse farm. Overnight stay at the farm.

Day 5: Today to ride you cycle through fields and orchards and pass through several Berber villages. You rest and have lunch on the beach at Aghroud. In the afternoon, a short stage that ends with a gallop on Aghrroud beach. There is the option of taking a ride on a dromedary to the beach.

Day 6: Today's stage takes you along the Atlantic coast. The ride begins at Imi Wadar beach and Abouda beach and continues along a path up to village Ikoz, which overlooks sea . A downhill path takes you to the small beach of La Maddrague, where you have lunch.
In the afternoon to ride through an argan tree forest to the fishing village of Taghazoute. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 7: On the last stage to ride you will pass the beautiful beaches of Taghazoute and Tamraghte at a long gallop in complete freedom. Then you leave the sea towards the mountains. Traditional lunch with the locals. In the late afternoon you reach Riding centre. Transfer to the hotel for the night.

Day 8: Transfer to Agadir airport and return flight.

Accomodation
Essaouira Coastal Trail: You will spend two nights in a mid-range hotel in Agadir. During the trail, you will spend the night in 1-3 person tents or alternatively in a large tent.

Taghazoute Beach Trail: The first and last nights are spent in a mid-range hotel in Agadir, the remaining nights are spent in guesthouses and tents. Certain dates can only be booked with guesthouses and hotels (surcharge). You will be accommodated 3 times in 4-star hotels, 2 times in beautiful riads and 2 times in guesthouses in the mountains.

Single room at extra charge, single tent at no extra charge.

Full board includes non-alcoholic drinks with meals, and water is also available for refilling bottles. Moroccan wine and beer are available at an extra charge.


Saddle & Tack: English trekking saddles, English bridles.

Experience: Comfortable in all gaits, experience in varied terrain and safety in a light seat are required. Beautiful gallops on the beach!

Horses: Arabian-Berber stallions, well-bred and balanced. Since only stallions are taken along, there is never any trouble.
