The Alcainca riding stable in Portugal, not far from Lisbon, is fully dedicated to the dressage training of demanding adult riding students.
About 20 horses, Lusitanos or Cruzados are available for dressage training. The lessons are given by qualified, very well trained riding instructors. Among others, Georges Malleroni (among others, students from the world famous Nuno Oliviera, Royal Portuguese Riding School) will teach you.
The size of the groups in the lessons is 2-4 riders, separated by level of training, so that each one can be treated individually. Included are 1 or 2 lessons of 1.5 hours each day. In this case, however, one lesson counts as much time as the student needs to understand his lessons.
Reiseverlauf
Dressage training:
Program A: 2 daily lessons of 1.5 hours each in classical dressage. Be assured: The lessons are so intensive that you won´t have time to think about anything else. But it is always enough for a swim in the pool.
Program B: 1 lesson unit of 1.5 hours each day, for those who also want to get to know the numerous sights in the beautiful surroundings. The riding lessons are given in English or French.
The riding lessons are usually held between 10.30-12.00 and 15.30-17.00. If you arrive early enough or leave late enough, you can also ride on the day of arrival or departure instead of another morning or afternoon.
In addition, the riding stable offers various excursions (extra charge) or the visit of Malveira, the training of the Portuguese Riding School in Queluz, Mafra, Belèm, Sintra, Lisbon etc.
Golega Horse Fair
Every year in November, on St. Martin´s Day, the small town of Golega is transformed into a meeting place for Lusitano lovers, breeders and riders from all over the world. For 14 days, breeding demonstrations and tournaments in all equestrian disciplines are held as part of this unique event. The programme is rounded off by local Portuguese specialities, numerous shopping opportunities for horse lovers and an attractive supporting programme with many shows.
During this time Alcainca offers an excursion package (2 days/1 night) to the Golega Horse Fair. This is obligatory for all bookings during this time. No riding lessons are offered on the day of the visit.
Program:
1st day: Transfer from Alcainca to Golega and visit of the Golega Horse Fair
Day 2: After lunch transfer from Golega to Lisbon airport (or Alcainca) in the late afternoon.
Services provided: Transfer Alcainca - Golega - Alcainca, 1 practice in hotel with breakfast, guide/accompaniment, minimum participants: 3 persons.
Unterkunft
Sie wohnen auf dem Gestüt mitten unter den Pferden, 25 km nordwestlich von Lissabon und 10 km vom Meer, in ruhiger Dorflage. Eine Reithalle und ein Aussenplatz 65 x 25 m dienen der Dressurausbildung, ein Swimmingpool der Abkühlung. Daneben gibt es einen Billard-Raum und ein Kaminzimmer mit TV. Die Unterbringung erfolgt in Doppelzimmern mit eigenem Bad, Klimaanlage/Heizung und Wäscheservice. Die Zimmer sind einfach ausgestattet, aber zweckmässig. Es handelt sich um keine Hotelanlage, sondern um eine Reiterhofunterkunft. Die Mahlzeiten werden gemeinsam im Speiseraum mit Blick auf die Reithalle eingenommen. Mittag- und Abendessen sind jeweils eine warme Mahlzeit mit Salat und Nachtisch.

Pferde:
Lusitanos und Cruzados. Grösstenteils Hengste sowie einige Wallache und Stuten.
Sattel & Zaum:
Kandare bzw. Wassertrense und englische Sättel.
Reiterfahrung: Mindestens fortgeschrittener Anfänger: Sie sollten mind. 30-40 Stunden Basisausbildung haben. Von da an geht es bis zum höchsten Niveau auf Klasse S. Reitergewicht max. 85 kg.
