Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf

The name Cappadocia is said to come from the ancient Persian and means land of beautiful horses. Cappadocia was situated on the famous Silk Road. The people living there were often attacked by aggressors. Therefore the inhabitants have hollowed out the soft tuff rock of the surroundings to hide in it. This is how whole underground cities were created. Because of this cultural history and the breathtaking landscape formations, the region was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. Come with our experienced partner on a journey of discovery through this unique landscape!

Reiseverlauf

Fairy Trail:
You will stay in inns with typical local architecture (stone and cave houses in Greek and Ottoman style). There are a total of 3 different inns in the most beautiful Cappadocian villages. Breakfast and dinner are served in the inns. Lunch in local restaurants and a campfire lunch.

Day 1: Arrival at Kayseri airport and approx. 50 minutes transfer to your accommodation in Ortahisar.

Day 2: In the morning, you will drive by minibus to the ranch, which is located in the middle of the UNESCO Natural Park. You will get to know your horse for the next few days and start for a first ride. You will ride through the surroundings of the ranch and along the Uzgeni Canyon. Quickly the first gallops will bring you to Mount Avlak. With a wide view over Cappadocia and over the plateau you will ride in a romantic canyon.
There the picnic is ready with Turkish specialties, hummus, cheese, brown bread etc. while the horses graze around you.
In the afternoon you will ride through the canyon to the ghost town of Karain and with a few more gallops you will reach Akköy. A few meters from the hotel the horses are accommodated.
Day 3: At an altitude of 1600 m you will ride over an agricultural high plateau over small dirt roads. A narrow path leads down to the Damsa lake, where lunch is prepared by villagers on a wood fire. In the afternoon you will circle the lake on small paths, passing unusual rock formations and orchards, framed by table mountains. If the weather is fine, there is an opportunity to go swimming with the horses. Afterwards you will ride over soft country roads. Through a small gorge you will reach the village of Ayvali.
Day 4: From the guesthouse you ride into the southern part of Cappadocia. Far from roads, the sure-footed horses will carry you over small paths past unusual rock formations and orchards, framed by table mountains. After a gallop you reach the underground village of Golgoli. Afterwards you climb a wide plateau and visit the old Greek settlement of Mustafapasa. There is enough space up there to gallop undisturbed. Through a small gorge you will reach the village of Ayvali again.
Day 5: The scenery is varied, with pasture and farmland, canyons and the wide open landscapes of the Subasi plain. A short stop in another cave village, Kirkule, then we continue through vineyards and under the rock arches of the Gumuslu Canyon. One of the best restaurants on your way awaits you for lunch. In the afternoon you will climb a panoramic viewpoint with views over northern Cappadocia and the fortress of Uchisar. The overnight guest house awaits you for a cool drink on the terrace.
Day 6: In the early morning you have the possibility for a hot-air balloon flight (optional approx. 200 EUR payable on site): the wind will carry you over Cappadocia´s breathtaking landscape, which shines magically at sunrise.
On horseback you will continue your journey through the famous 4 km long Green Valley, through rock tunnels, rock bridges and small forests. You will ride into the world-famous Love Valley with its gigantic, phallus-like rock towers. Then you will reach the Red Valley, which is one of the most beautiful valleys of Cappadocia with its red, pink and ochre colours. In a Höhel-Café you will have a midday rest. In the afternoon you ride over the wide fields of northern Cappadocia. Overnight stay like the day before in Uchisar.
Day 7: The last riding day again shows the typical Cappadocian landscape with constantly changing surroundings of table mountains, high plateau canyons and agriculturally used areas. The white colour of the rocks gives the valley we ride through today its name. To the left and right chimney-like rocks rise and again you dive into a new valley.
After passing through the picturesque village of Cavusin, you will walk alongside the horses to the plateau of Boz and the subsequent gallop across the plain will show you the Red Valley once again. After further gallops over sandy paths and forests of undergrowth with multicoloured rock formations and through gardens, you return to the farm in the afternoon. After tea on the terrace a transfer to the hammam in Ürgüp is offered. Pamper your muscles in the steam bath and during a massage (optional, extra charge).
Day 8: After breakfast transfer to the airport.

The order of the days can be different and subject to change.
