Unser Tipp

Discover France at a gallop. For all those who would like to be more agile.

Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf

This sporty ride takes you from south to north from the vineyards to the Vosges mountains in the north. Magnificent mountain landscapes with corresponding views, as well as charming little towns like Riquewhir and Kayserberg await you. But no matter where you are, you will always find long passages at a gallop. The noble Anglo-Arabs are also active in endurance sports and are accordingly fit.
Our long-standing partner can also tell you a lot about the flora and fauna and his trained endurance horses with his knowledge. On these incredibly enduring horses you will gallop long distances as you will rarely find. But don´t worry: our customers are not professionals and only ride in their free time! What is important is safety in all gaits and a good physical condition. At the end of the ride you will master and praise every terrain: The horses are fantastic!

You will also stay in small, traditional and typically French hotels/guesthouses or country inns and can enjoy the famous French cuisine to the full. The lunch break takes place on the way and is gastronomic: 3-course menu - freshly prepared - and cheese platter, in the middle of nature, comfortably at the long table with chairs - time to enjoy and relax! In the evenings you will be spoiled with French culinary arts, often also with respective regional specialities.

Reiseverlauf

Day 1: Arrival in the late afternoon at Wintzfelden (south-west of Colmar). Guests arriving by train will travel to Colmar and can be picked up at the train station at 18:30.
First meeting and dinner together.

Day 2: After breakfast we will finally go into the saddle for a day´s stage of about 35 km. This will take you through some of the most beautiful Alsatian villages such as Riquewhir and Kayserberg with its colourful half-timbered houses. The famous wine-growing area extends as far as Mount Orbey. Overnight stay in a family hostel (single room possible in the village). End your first riding day with a glass of wine.

Day 3: Today´s stage will be rather mountainous and will take you about 35 km over different peaks of the balloons of the Vosges mountains. Wonderful views will accompany you on your way, then you will ride to Aubure, where you will spend the night in a country inn (single room 300 m further on in the village is possible).

Day 4: After breakfast, you will follow the former Vosges border on horseback along beautiful paths that invite you to gallop. You will reach your accommodation up to the summit of Climont via the Champ du feu. It is located on the ridge and will accommodate you for the night.

Day 5: Over a distance of about 40 km today´s beautiful riding day will lead you back to the plain near Oberhaslach. This is the destination, where you will be accommodated in a nice house with pool. Dinner will take place in a familiar atmosphere: Let yourself be spoiled by the French cuisine and end the evening in a relaxed way.

Day 6: After breakfast, the horses will be saddled and the Alsace will be explored further. 30 or 37 km (two possible routes) lead you today to Birkenwald. Depending on your pace, you will reach the village after 30 km or build an additional western loop and reach it after 37 km. Even today there are several gallop possibilities and also longer gallop distances can be found on this tour again and again. The endurance horses are excellently trained and will lead you reliably to your destination. In Birkenwald you will stay overnight in a hotel which is known for its delicious cuisine. A welcome refreshment after this beautiful riding day.

Day 7: The last riding stage offers fluent riding, so that the approx. 35 km pass by in no time. Via the village of Saverne you enter the nature park of the Northern Vosges. Enjoy the beautiful landscape until you reach Ernolsheim les Savernes. Departure in the evening after the ride from 17:00 hrs. from Strasbourg train station. If you wish, you can book an extra night and leave relaxed after breakfast the next day.
