Unser Tipp

Here you will learn everything you ever wanted to know about endurance riding from professionals.

Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf

We cordially invite you to the stud in the beautiful pre-Alpine landscape of the Allgäu. The dreamlike location at 850m offers a sweeping view over the hilly landscape, and beckons to be explored on horseback. Enjoy the peace and quiet and take advantage of the varied terrain during the Allgäuer Alpine Trail Riding Week or during Endurance Riding Seminars. Experienced riders will enjoy the brisk rides on Arabian horses, while beginners will receive intensive and personalised coaching in individual lessons - including both theory and practice. Choose the programme that suits you best: endurance riding on Arabian horses, the trail riding week or learning to ride and flexible riding based at the stud farm.

Reiseverlauf

You have the choice of a few different riding programs, meaning that everyone will find something to suit:

The Allgäuer Alpine Trail Riding Week with wonderful tracks and views: day rides and half-day rides every day in the mountains as well as in the Illertal with its approx. 30 km long canter trail.

Or the Stud Farm Week which offers a flexible riding program:
- For advanced riders: 10 lessons of your choice
- For beginners there is an intensive introduction to riding: two individual riding lessons and theory every day.

For several dates, Endurance Riding Seminars are held for who would like to get an insight into the world of endurance riding - under the guidance of an endurance riding professional. There are also seminars for advanced endurance riders on request.

If you are looking for a short break from everyday life, you can book weekend visits: The Gallop Weekend exclusively for advanced riders with 25-35 km rides of which 10-15 km are at a canter/gallop or the Mountain & Valley Adventure Weekend with a mixture of mountain riding on one day and a faster paced (canter/gallop) day the next.

New this year is the Alpine Weekend, which requires good fitness as some sections require the horses to be led, but no advanced riding level. This allows less experienced riders to enjoy an adventurous trail as the pace is slower. You head up two mountains over the two days with an overnight stay in an alpine hut (shared room), a must for mountain lovers!

Also new are the Extreme Trail Weekends, where you can practice more difficult terrain and obstacles such as bridges, seesaws, water in the mobile training course and off-road.

Allgäuer Alpine Trail Riding Week (7 days)
Sunday: Arrival in the afternoon/early evening.
Monday-Friday: daily full-day or half-day rides covering distances of 20-50 km into the beautiful and very diverse landscape of the Allgäu. Routes over hilly terrain (e.g. Kürnacher Wald and Markt Rettenbach) alternate with mountain tours up to 1500 m (e.g. up to the Reuterwanne). Also included is a trip to the Iller Valley with its endlessly long paths that invite you to faster paces. At lunchtimes you stop in rustic mountain huts for snacks and visit inns for your evening meal (dinner not included). On some days you will have a picnic on the way (packed lunch included). The half-day rides offer a little time to relax from the longer rides and can be supplemented as you wish, e.g. with bathing, relaxing, sauna, reading etc. You will stay overnight at the stud farm from where you start every day (occasionally you will be trailered out to the different trail heads). The small number of participants offers personal and optimal supervision and attention during this unique adventure week. The choice of trails depend on the weather - there are enough options to offer something different on a daily basis even if the weather is not optimal.
Saturday: Goodbyes and journey home after breakfast.

Stud Farm Week (7 days)
Sunday: Arrival in the afternoon/early evening.
Monday: First test ride and picking horses, dressage lesson or/and trail ride, getting to know the stud
Tuesday-Friday: Riding according to chosen program (beginner/10 lessons in dressage/trail riding can be flexibly arranged), possibility to help with the yard work.
Saturday: Goodbyes and journey home after breakfast.

Endurance Riding Seminars for advanced beginners (4 days) with a German champion!
Day 1: Arrival in the afternoon, tour of the stud and introduction to theory
Day 2: Equipment and horse check, 1 riding lesson to get used to the horse, equipment and the endurance-riding style then a training ride.
Day 3: Training ride over approx. 10-15 km with pulse checks and theory with topics such as riding style, tour planning, preparation, training, feeding, equipment, gymnastics etc.
Day 4: as previous day, departure around 5 pm.
Special: max. 6 people per ride accompanied by 2 riding instructors guaranteeing you personal attention.

Endurance Riding Seminars for advanced riders on request (3 days)
A condensed training in endurance riding as ideal preparation for the next competition. Look over the shoulder of professionals and benefit from their know-how.
Prerequisite: completed endurance seminar for beginners or 1 completed endurance ride.

Gallop Weekend for advanced riders (3 days)
Day 1: Arrival in the morning up to 12:00 o`clock. One riding lesson to settle in in the arena, then lunch, followed by a shorter ride (max. 25 km). Dinner.
Day 2: By trailer to the starting point or directly from the farm. Ride of approx. 25-30 km (of which approx. 10-15 km at a gallop!) e.g. along cycle paths and an avenue with grassy ground following the Iller downhill. Break after about 15 km with drinking possibility for horse and rider at a small tributary. Return to the stud and 3-course meal or barbecue evening.
Day 3: Approx. 30km-long brisk ride from the farm with many gallop tracks. Departure from the stud farm from approx. 4 pm (no dinner included on this day).

Mountain & Valley Adventure Weekend (3 days)
Day 1: Arrival in the afternoon until 2 pm. A first riding lesson will help you to get used to the horses and riding style. Joint dinner.
Day 2: By trailer to the starting point in Wertach. The ride leads over flower meadows, past mountain pastures and through forests up to the Wertacher Hörnle at about 1200 m. A little below the summit you will be spoiled with wonderful views until you reach the hut for lunch. The horses enjoy their break in large paddocks. The host of the hut is waiting with a hearty Allgäuer Schmankerl-Essen, which tastes especially good after spending the morning in saddle! Once refreshed after lunch, ride back down the mountain, potentially with some sections where the horses have to be led. Return to the farm by car. The evening ends comfortably with a 3-course menu. Today´s ride will be ridden at a walk only!
Day 3: Approx. 30 km long brisk ride from the farm with many fast-paced sections.

Alpine Weekend (3 days)
Day 1: Arrival until 3 pm. A first riding lesson will help you to get used to the horses and riding style. Delicious 3-course menu in the evening.
Day 2: By trailer to the starting point. In Gen Breitenberg you will ride at 1600m over flower meadows and past mountain pastures into alpine terrain. Enjoy the views as you go and during a riding break. When you head back down, there will be sections where the horses have to be led. Once back at the starting point you have covered approx. 25-30 km with about 1000 meters of altitude difference - at a walk, because the journey, not the destination is the goal of today. Overnight stay is back at the riding farm.
Day 3: The day starts with a substantial breakfast. Then you saddle the horses and ride towards Kienberg or Dreiangelhütte, up to about 1250m. At noon you will stop at a hut and enjoy a hearty snack before you ride home and from about 5 pm you start your journey home.

Attention: Routes only possible in good weather conditions, if the weather is not appropriate, rides will take you through the lush valleys instead. In case of very bad weather there is an alternative date that can be arranged.

New Extreme Trail Weekend (3 days)
Day 1: Arrival until 6 pm and dinner.
Day 2: You start the day with a hearty breakfast before heading out on the course. You will first practise this in hand. After a snack, you will go out on the course on horseback (although you can continue to practice in hand if you wish). Try out bridges, seesaws, water, gates, uphill and downhill sections. At the joint dinner you can talk about the experiences and adventures of the day.
Day 3: Strengthened by breakfast, you will go out into the terrain for about 2 hours today. The Natural Trail round is waiting for you! You will overcome various obstacles such as water, steeper passages etc. at a walking pace and in between you can also ride faster to loosen up the horses. A snack is served at lunchtime and the afternoon is left over to your choice of attempting the course again either in hand or ridden, which ever suits your preference. Departure.

New Stud Farm Weekend
The ideal mixture of all riding options offered at the farm all in one weekend.
Day 1: Arrival on Friday until 4 pm. After getting to know each other over coffee you will start with a first riding lesson. Afterwards you will enjoy a rich 3-course menu for dinner.
Day 2: On Saturday you will undertake a 4-hour ride with a picnic break, distance approx. 30 km, in the beautiful Allgäu. During this ride you will have numerous trot and canter opportunities.
Day 3: On Sunday another 2 hours in the morning are given to riding. Depending on the weather and your wishes there will be either a trail ride or a riding lesson. In addition, there is also the possibility to get a taste of the extreme trail course under expert guidance. After a hearty snack at noon you will headh home.

Araber
