Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf
Endless dimensions with wonderful galloping possibilities and great horses - this is what awaits you in Dalmatia, the heart of Croatia. The impressive karst landscape with its valleys, rivers and lakes offers a lot of variety and will remind you of the Karl May film adaptations! Numerous bathing possibilities with and without horse are another highlight of this tour.
Reiseverlauf
Day 1: Arrival. If you still have time, it is worth visiting Split, the largest city and cultural metropolis of Dalmatia, with its more than 1,700 years of history. Worth seeing is the picturesque old town with the famous Diocletian´s Palace, which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dinner and overnight stay at the horse farm.
Day 2: After breakfast you will go for a first ride of about 4 hours into the surroundings of the ranch followed by lunch.
Day 3: Start towards the east towards Orgorje. The ride takes you over the Selovo plateau with its wide fields. Lunch is served on the impressive plateau. In the afternoon we will ride over the mountain top through wild gorges down to the night camp for the horses. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Breakfast. A longer ride takes you to the river plain of the Cetina with trot and gallop possibilities. In the early afternoon you can relax at the Perucko Lake. During the late lunch break we will have a barbecue and you will have the opportunity to swim in the clear water with or without a horse. Overnight stay in the inn.
Day 5: In all gaits you will ride to the idyllically situated ice-cold (5 - 6°C) Cetina spring. Here late lunch break. If you are brave, you can refresh yourself in the spring water. In the afternoon you ride over wide open fields and along the river towards the small town of Vrlika. Overnight stay in the inn.
Day 6: Today you will ride to Vrilka and climb up the hill behind the town, where you will have a pleasant lunch break with a beautiful view. After lunch you will ride down the hill and through small villages and forests. Overnight and dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: After breakfast you will ride over wide fields with some trot and gallop possibilities. After lunch you will ride over fields and through a deep mountain incision, which you will ride through on a narrow path. In the evening you can review the ride during a cosy dinner at the riding stable.
Day 8: Departure after breakfast.
At the beginning of August the traditional Alka Horse Riding Games are held in Sinj. Since 1717 they have been held every year to commemorate the Croatian-Venetian victory over the Ottomans.
At this date you ride on Sunday morning for about 2 hours. In the afternoon you will visit the equestrian games (at extra charge).
