Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf

The Aravalli Trail is a horse riding tour in the north of India, into the heart of the Aravalli Mountains to two of the most important sights of southern Rajasthan, the Kumbhalgarh Fortress and the Jain Temples of Ranakpur. But this India riding safari with comfort has a lot to offer in other respects as well. We start in Udaipur, from where the way on horseback leads high into the mountains. Again and again you can enjoy a spectacular view. Wide high valleys invite you to gallop!
From Udaipur the trail leads to Kumbhalgarh Fortress, situated on the highest elevation of the region, and back down into the valley of Ranakpur. Parts of the trail lead through the Kumbhalgarh National Park, which is especially known for the last continuous dry jungle. It provides habitat for a variety of animals including Rajasthan´s last major wolf population, sloth bears, leopards, Sambar and Chittal deer, Hanuman monkeys and many other animals. The terrain is mostly hilly and horse and rider have to do some climbing.
Other places of interest are the temples of Eklingji and Nagda and the historic battlefield of Haldi Ghati. The riding tour in the Indian spring offers the possibility to celebrate the Holi festival in Udaipur afterwards.
